Trip Planner

Welcome to our Trip Planner information page where you can gather all of the necessary information to help make your trip smooth & fun.  If your guests need directions to their cabin ahead of time, have them call or email me. Please make sure you and your guests read the description of the cabin. 

Check-in time is 3pm.  
Check-out time is 9am. 
Please plan accordingly!!  No late checkouts or early arrivals unless you are approved ahead of time.

Make sure you and your guests know how to get here and what to bring before you leave home.

There is no place to turn around at the office area if pulling a trailer. The best thing to do is pull off to the side of our driveway where the other trailers are parked. Driving on the lawn is not allowed due to buried sewer lines.

If you got permission to bring a small dog, please make sure to read the Pet rules.
If you are bringing an ATV, please make sure to read the Resort rules.

 

Things to Bring:

  • Bath towels

  • Paper towel 

  • Toilet paper (we supply 1 roll per bathroom)

  • Trash bags (for a kitchen size can)

  • Coffee stuff (we do not make coffee in office)

  • Charcoal and lighter fluid

  • Soap, shampoo, and toiletries

  • Outdoor cooking supplies (fire grates, hot pads, pan, etc...the cabin supplies are not for the firepit)

  • Fan (we no longer furnish a fan in each bedroom)

  • Extension cord for dock power

  • Gas for your boat, or gas cans to buy gas in town (we cannot sell gas)

  • Fishing gear and filet knife

  • Fishing license (www.mdnr-elicense.com)

  • Bumpers for your boat (we do have tires on most of the docks)

  • Dock lines

 

Papin's Resort Cabin Amenities:

  • Stove/Oven

  • Refrigerator/Freezer (extra freezer space in the office)

  • Dishes

  • Kitchen towels

  • Cooking utensils

  • Pots and pans

  • Dish soap and pump hand soap

  • Color TV with Satellite (may not have video game plugs)

  • Microwave

  • Toaster

  • Coffee maker (standard 12 cup brewer)

  • Bedding and pillows

  • WiFi

  • Charcoal grill at each cabin

  • Picnic table at each cabin

 

We do have things you may borrow: crockpot, fry daddy, griddle, clothes iron, etc.
We also have yard games, including cornhole, Yahtzee, checkers, and more!

   

Directions to Papin's Resort from the Ferry:
When you get off the ferry, follow the main road around to the left.
Go 8.5 miles to the 4-way stop. 
Turn left onto Townline Road.  
Go 1.5 miles to the next 4-way stop.
Turn right onto Maxton Road.  
Go 6.5 miles to the driveway of Papin's Resort on the left.
There are boat launch directions hanging on the information board in the office.

Drummond Island Highlights (all just a short drive away):

Drummond Island offers a full-service gas station, IGA grocery store, swimming beaches, full-service marinas, a sport shop, 2 party stores, restaurants, bars, clothing and souvenir stores, and a hardware store.
Johnson's Sport Shop has everything you will need for hunting and fishing and is on the way from the ferry. Papin's Resort does NOT sell licenses, ORV stickers, minnows or tackle.
